Squeegee Handle With Fitted Blade
Our handles are made from aluminium, which is easier to clean and does not warp like wooden handles. We can custom-make squeegee handles up to two metres in length.
To prolong the life of your squeegees, keep all blades clean and free of ink when not in use. Store them away from direct sunlight and in a temperature range of 10º to 35ºC.
Our blades are colour-coded for their hardness values: the red blade is soft, the green blade is medium and the blue blade is hard. Please see below for details on selecting the appropriate blade for your printing application.
On this page, you can purchase our recommended squeegees fitted with a No. 11 green blade. For any other sizes or blade combinations, please contact us by phone or email.
Squeegee Blades No. 11
All squeegee blades are can be supplied up to four metres in length. The overall dimensions are 50mm x 9mm and are made from spun urethane polymers. This formulation provides excellent resistance to solvents and water-based inks and exhibits good abrasion resistance, ensuring a longer-lasting edge. It is advisable to rotate your squeegees. After a day’s printing, the used squeegee should be rested for a day to allow the blade to recover from solvent absorption. Replacement blades are shipped curled in a box. We recommend laying the blade flat for 24 hours before cutting to size.
Green Blade Medium
This blade is used by 95% of printers and produces high print quality, minimising imperfections in the baseboard or substrate. It has a Shore value of 75 and is suitable for all ink viscosities and mesh counts.
Red Blade Soft
This soft blade produces a less defined image but increases ink deposit resulting in greater opacity and a thicker ink layer. It is primarily used by water-based textile printers. It has a Shore value of 65 and is best used with low-viscosity inks and mesh counts below 62. For further increased ink deposits, see our number 18 blade.
Blue Blade Hard
This blade delivers the highest print quality at the expense of baseboard imperfections. It is exclusively used by graphic printers for printing paper, board or plastics. It is most effective with finer mesh counts of 100 and above. This blade applies the least amount of ink to the substrate resulting in reduced opacity. It has a Shore value of 85 and is best used with low-viscosity inks.
Squeegee Blades No. 18
The soft round blade produces a less precise image but increases the ink deposit resulting in greater opacity and a thicker ink layer. This blade is primarily used by water-based textile printers and is particularly effective for printing fabrics with uneven and irregular surfaces. It has a Shore value of 65 and is best used with low-viscosity inks and mesh counts below 62.
Squeegee Blades No. 35
This blade offers the advantages of the Number 11 blade, both soft and hard. It prints with a soft edge, utilising the benefits of the red blade. The blade is constructed from a combination of a hard white centre and two soft red outer pieces. This type of blade is ideal for printing on uneven surfaces while maintaining a sharp print. It has a Shore value of 65 for the outer and 90 for the inner section and is suitable for all ink viscosities and mesh counts.
