Dry Film was developed to work with inkjet printers to create silk screen positives. The manufactured film has a 100 micron polyester carrier film with a coating that provides a nano-porous layer which is receptive to the water based inkjet inks. The base film gives you excellent dimensional stability at room temperature. The coating will increase the UV Density of the jet ink making screen exposure easier. The films stability and UV Density makes it excellent for half tone positives as well as fine lines and block areas. The Dry Film works well with various ink jet manufactures machines, Epson Stylus (all series), HP Design jet and Canon. The printed film will dry rapidly and will be water resistant. The image on the film will harden over night but can be used straight after printing. The film positives should be stored flat, in dry and dark conditions.
Our Drafting Film provides the graphic artist the ability to create a hand drawn or painted film positive. The film is translucent, making registration easy between the different coloured layers. The film is dimensionally stable at room temperature also aiding registration. The film has a matt side for drawing onto. The matt surface is suitable for a pen, pencil, plotter or painting with Photopaque, Indian Ink etc. The drawing material must be opaque to UV light to produce a good screen stencil. The film has a thickness of 0.075mm, width of 1016mm and is available on a 25 metre roll.
This transparent film is used for laying up opaque pieces of material to make a film positive or a collection of smaller positives for the production of screen print stencils. The film has an antistatic coating making layup easier.
These products allow the screen printer to produce a film positive using a CAD cutter or plotter. The films can also be hand cut as both are transparent. Both Coloured Films are opaque to UV light so a perfect screen can be produced. The masking film is produced in two colours Amber and Green, both are opaque to UV light. The choice of colour is up to the stencil maker’s preferences.
Our laser film can be used in all popular makes of laser printer. The laser printer produces films faster than the Inkjet printers. One problem with the laser film is the maximum size available, is only an A3 sheet. The laser films produce a less dense black than inkjet printers, how ever if you apply white spirit to the ink film the density of the black can be increased. This makes film a much better film positive and screen making easier.
