The basic technique for screen reclaiming is described below.

Stage 1.Screen cleaning.

Stage 2. Stencil removal.

Stage 3. Stain removal.

Stage 4. Screen preparation for new stencil.

This page has products used in the removal of ink from the screen. After scraping the ink from the screen, place the frame in a wash out booth or cleaning area and wash the stencil using the appropriate screen cleaner. Once all the old ink is removed, and the screen is clean, dry the mesh and it is ready for stencil removal.

Mesh Cleaning Brushes

Cleaning Brushes are available in 5 different colours. All the brushes can be used with any of our mesh cleaning products. You can create your own colour coding, this will help prevent the cross-contamination of the chemicals used in the reclaiming process.

Plastic Push Knives

These plastic knives are ideal for scraping out unused inks from screens as well as ladling ink on to the screen. They are solvent and water resistant and wipe clean easily.

Stainless Steel Push Knives

These knives are ideal for mixing ink on a glass slab when colour matching a small batch of ink. They can be used to remove ink from the screen but great care is needed as they can rip the mesh very easIly.

Stainless Steel Palette Knives

The palette knives can be used with solvent or water based products. They are available in sizes 4, 6, 8, 10,12 and 14 inch long blades. The handle is made from solvent resistant material and is very comfortable to use. The 6 inch blade is ideal for use with the Paper Cups. The 8 inch blade is ideal for use with the 1 litre plastic tubs and 1 kilo metal lever lid tins. The 10 inch blade is ideal for use with the 5 litre plastic tubs. The 5 kilo metal lever lid tins would need the 12 inch long blade.

Poly-diesel Gloves

These gloves are loose fitting and use once and throw away, similar to those found at petrol stations. They have good solvent and water resistance. The gloves offer a quick and inexpensive option when small cleaning jobs are required during print runs and clean up.

Latex Gloves

These rubber latex gloves are powdered inside to make then easier to get on. They are tight fitting surgeon type gloves. You can use them for cleaning up screens / squeegees etc. They have good to low solvent resistance, water resistance is excellent. They are of industrial grade and will give a more secure grip than the the poly-diesel variety.

Cleaning Rags

The rags are cut from pieces of recycled fabric. These rags are non-returnable. The rags come in box of approx. 5 kg. In weight.

Screen Cleaner 950

Screen Cleaner 950 is a hazard free solvent, formulated for washing out screens after printing and cleaning squeegees etc.. Screen Cleaner 950 has no unpleasant smell and is non-flammable, making it completely user friendly as well as environmentally friendly product. This solvent is not subject to any form of environmental regulation and consequently can be disposed of without restriction. Users should wear solvent resistant gloves and goggles.

Screen Cleaner 870

Screen Cleaner 870 is a low odour solvent cleaner, formulated for washing out screens after printing and cleaning squeegees etc.. It is a relatively user friendly cleaner. The AQ 870 will dissolve any of our solvent based inks. Users should wear solvent resistant gloves and goggles.
