All Black Ink System

Another advantage of the AccuRIP package is the optional “All Black Ink System” which provides formulated black dye in each slot of a supported model. (Epson 1400 • 1800 • 1900 • 3000 • 4800 • 4880) When printing positives you only use the black ink cartridge, all the colour cartridges are wasted. With the “All Black Ink” cartridges installed simply turn on the All Black option, to dedicate your inkjet to making clean and sharp film positives using all the cartridges. RIP Software Why!

Ink Jets will produce a far denser film than Laser printers so making a more opaque positive. They are also more accurate when registering up multi colour images. The one draw back of ink jets is the way they produce a tonal image. They reduce the ink density thus giving a slightly less opaque film. Which will make exposure timing more critical. This can be overcome by installing suitable RIP software. The software by-passes the printer’s own driver, in stead of reducing the ink deposit, the RIP will produce small opaque dots of different sizes. This will give you the tonal image. Screen Colour Systems supply 2 completely different RIPs tailored to the 2 main areas of screen printing, namely T-shirt Printing (AccRip) & Graphic Printing(Photoprint).
